Achieving Success

You can't achieve success if you're not moving toward something. Think about your ultimate long-term goal, and then break it down into less overwhelming mini-goals. Then find some incentives to help you stay the course. What kinds of goals am I talking about? The ambitious and attainable ones.
For example if you want to run a marathon, but you just started running, you may consider shooting for a 5k first.  Start small and increase intensity over time.

After my daughter was born I started running again and it wasn't very long before I chose an event to run so that I could test myself on how I had been doing on my weekly runs.  The 5k led to training to a 10k, then a 1/2 marathon and a marathon.  But I could never imagine jumping right into training for a marathon without completing the shorter runs first!  My training for the triathlon was no different.

Set your sights on what you want to do - stop telling yourself you'll never be able to - and get started on the smaller steps that will eventually lead you to success!
